Introduction to TCM Video

CFFJAC has been a leader in the development of terrorism response training geared specifically for firefighters.

In 2002, the CFFJAC developed California's first post-9/11 firefighter terrorism response training program -- Terrorism Consequence Management -- through a grant from the state's Workforce Investment Act. After the passage of legislation in 2007 which earmarked $2.5 million for firefighter terrorism response training, the CFFJAC has continued to develop training courses to ensure that California's first responders are prepared and properly trained for a terrorist threat.

Training includes teaching first responders how to recognize and detect the various chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive agents and devices they may encounter. Course curriculum also discusses strategies and tactics to consider when tackling terrorism-based situations. Every California firefighter has access to this vital terrorism response training both in the classroom and on the Web.
