Judi Cutaia
Judi Cutaia is a fire captain with the City of Davis Fire Department and is a member of Davis Firefighters Union Local 3494, where she has served as secretary-treasurer.
In 2005, CFFJAC Chair Dan Terry appointed Judi to serve as a commissioner on the California Fire Fighter Joint Apprenticeship Committee's (CFFJAC) Commission to Recruit Women for the Fire Service
Judi started her firefighting career in 1983 with the California Department of Forestry as a seasonal wildland firefighter. She worked in this position for two summers and spent the winter months attending Solano Community College where she earned her Firefighter I certification.
In 1985, Judi was hired by the City of Davis Fire Department as a lateral firefighter. In 1987, she promoted to Firefighter II, an apparatus driver's position. In 1995 Judi was promoted to fire captain.
During her career, Judi has been involved with various department projects including Protective Clothing Coordinator, Computer Advisory Group, Fire Investigation Team, Wildland Coordinator and the Public Education Committee.
Judi's husband of 20 years, Genaro, is a firefighter with Sacramento Metro Fire. They have two boys, Andrew, 16, and Thomas, 12. During her time away from the fire station, Judi enjoys reading, skiing, traveling, camping and running.
