Opening Doors, Breaking Down Barriers
CFFJAC Women’s Commission Hosts 2008 Firefighter Recruitment Fairs in April
Do you have what it takes to be a firefighter or know someone who does? Would you like to meet fire department recruiters who are actively seeking candidates? Think you can pass the Candidate Physical Abilities Test (CPAT)?
If the answer to any of these questions is "yes", you'll want to mark your calendars now for the 2008 CFFJAC Firefighter Recruitment Fairs. The first fair is Saturday, April 12, at the Southern California CPAT Testing Center in Orange; the second is Saturday, April 19, at the Northern California CPAT Center in Dublin.
Sponsored by the CFFJAC Commission to Recruit Women for the Fire Service, the fairs provide an up-close-and-personal look at the women and men who serve on the front lines to protect millions of Californians.
In-depth presentations detailing the range of responsibilities and rewards associated with firefighting will be shown throughout the day. Firefighters from throughout the state will be on hand to demonstrate physical ability testing techniques and answer all of your questions about becoming a first responder.
Highlights include:
Direct Recruitment: Recruitment officers from fire departments throughout California will be on site to guide you on the path to a future in the fire service with their departments.
Candidate Physical Ability Testing: Potential recruits will be able to try their hands at the physical ability techniques needed to be a fire fighter and lean how they can take, and pass, the industry-leading Candidate Physical Abilities Test
"A Day in the Life of a Firefighter": In-depth presentations detailing the range of responsibilities and rewards associated with firefighting will be shown throughout the day.
