Progress Notebooks

Each department should develop an apprentice progress notebook or other method to keep track of the types of training completed by apprentices. This notebook can provide direction for and define the content of the skills and knowledge requirements for each year of apprenticeship.

A condensed version or summary of the individual training record should be included in the book. Tasks and training may be signed off by the supervisor/instructor on this form as they are completed. This becomes a permanent record of completion and can be kept in the apprentice's training or personnel file.
