Web-Based Terrorism Consequence Management Training Available Now

The next generation of terrorism response training for firefighters is here today for California’s first responders.

CFFJAC’s Terrorism Consequence Management (TCM) web-based training programs are now available to all California fire agencies at no cost. Every California firefighter -- paid or volunteer -- now has access to interactive and engaging Web-based TCM training. The CFFJAC’s TCM program is funded through a grant from the State Anti-Terrorism Fund administered through CAL-EMA.

“In a dangerous world, every California firefighter needs to be ready to respond if the unthinkable happens,” said CFFJAC Chair Dan Terry. “With Terrorism Consequence Management, we’re putting together training programs that are thorough, flexible and up-to-date.”

The CFFJAC partners with Kaplan University to host the on-line training and provide CEU credit for EMT’s and Paramedics, again at no cost to the individual or department. Only fire service personnel registered by their departments will have access to the courses. No individual registration will be accepted. Registration information must be submitted by the Fire Chief or designee.

Two Web-based courses are currently available, Improvised Explosive and Incendiary Devices and Chemical Considerations. These will be part of a series of 10 courses that are being developed now and will be made available over the next year. Registration is only needed once to access all the courses.

More information about TCM courses is available at the CFFJAC website: http://www.cffjac.org/go/jac/training/terrorism-consequence-management/
