CFFJAC Phone and Web Restored After Weekend Outage

The California Fire Fighters Joint Apprenticeship Committee's Web and telephone systems – as well as those of California Professional Firefighters and its affiliated organizations – are operational following a weekend outage caused by flooding at CPF headquarters.

In the pre-dawn hours Saturday (Dec. 13), a water main broke underneath the CFFJAC and CPF headquarters building in Sacramento, forcing water and gravel into the lower floor of the structure. In addition to sending water levels up to two feet in the lower floor, the incident also pushed up support columns on one side of the building, near the computer and telephone servers.

Nobody was in the building at the time, and no one was injured in the incident.

Operations for CFFJAC, California Professional Firefighters, Firefighters Print and Design and FireStar Productions have been temporarily relocated, pending an assessment of the damage caused by the incident.

CFFJAC’s Web services have also been relocated to a temporary site, including those for the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT). CPAT test dates and registration will proceed as normal -- please call (877) 648-2728 for more information.

Phone lines for all affiliated organizations are operational, and are staffed during normal business hours. You are also encouraged to contact CPF and its affiliated organizations at the following addresses:
